Introduction to Lithium Iron Phosphate Thin Film

Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) is a cathode material that is commonly used in rechargeable batteries due to its high energy density, long cycle life, and low cost. The deposition technique used to create LFP electrodes for lithium-ion batteries can vary depending on the specific manufacturing process. deposited onto a conductive substrate using a variety of methods such as spin coating, spray coating, or dip coating. However, LiFePO4 also has interesting properties as a thin film material, including good electrical conductivity and stability under ambient conditions.

In thin film form, LiFePO4 has a wide range of applications, including energy storage, electrochromic devices, and sensing. It can be used as an active layer in thin film batteries or as a buffer layer in organic photovoltaics.

IIt is being deposited on SrTiO3 substrates and for electrochemical testing they can be deposited on SrRuO3 high conducting lattice matched interlayers. Sometimes Nb-doped SrTiO3 substrates are also used but typically not as easy for electrochemical measurements as SrRuO3 interlayers.
